If you’ve ever tried to clean your own pool, you know that it can be an extremely time-consuming, not to mention, extremely tedious process. Even then, you might not do the best job. Sure, you could always hire someone to do it for you, but that means having to work around someone else’s schedule. This is why a pool cleaning robot might be a better investment, like the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra which was announced at CES 2025.

5-in-1 cleaning
If you’ve never used a pool cleaning robot before, think of it as the equivalent of a robot vacuum, except that it cleans your swimming pool instead of the floors of your home. In that sense, the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra is quite similar. It boasts a 5-in-1 cleaning process that covers the surface of your pool, the waterline, the floor, and the walls, and even goes one step further with water clarification.

Some robot pool cleaners might only cover the surface and waterline, which means that it won’t offer the same comprehensive cleaning process that the AquaSense 2 Ultra offers.

The robot utilizes an 11-motor system, such as chamber motors and surface propellers. This allows the robot to be more versatile and precise in its movements.

There’s an integrated cavity that traps air to maintain the robot’s buoyancy to allow it to easily transition between floating, while it cleans the surface, and diving when it needs to go underwater to clean the floors and walls of your pool.

Speaking of cleaning the floors and walls, the AquaSense 2 Ultra has two large track wheels that help it move across the surfaces of your pool. It also helps it overcome various obstacles that it encounters during the cleaning process.

Smart debris detection
Since this is 2025, it’s not surprising that Beatbot has equipped the AquaSense 2 Ultra with AI capabilities. Debris detection is one of those AI features. Since your pool might contain debris and objects, like fallen leaves and branches, the robot uses AI to detect it.

This is versus other pool cleaners that might operate on a fixed path, ignoring debris and obstacles in the way. This can cause the robot to operate inefficiently or get stuck. It might also overlook certain areas of your pool.

The AquaSense 2 Ultra scans your pool when fully submerged and adjusts its cleaning path to tackle any debris it detects. Beatbot has trained the robot to recognize a wide variety of leaf types. There are plans to introduce support for more debris detection via an OTA update in the future.

AI mapping capabilities
Another AI feature that users can look forward to is mapping. Beatbot claims that the AquaSense 2 Ultra uses an industry-first combination of sensors. This includes the front-facing camera, infrared sensors, and ultrasonic sensors. The robot uses it to map out the shape of your pool.

This helps the robot figure out the best path to take for cleaning and ensuring the best coverage. This might come in handy for irregular-shaped pools. This is an area that other robot pool cleaners might struggle with. It also prevents overlaps of paths previously taken, which reduces the overall time it takes to clean the pool. It also helps with unnecessary battery drain.

Pricing & availability
If the Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra sounds like the perfect pool companion, you can pre-order it from Beatbot’s website. Pre-orders start on the 24th of January, 2025, and it will be priced at $3,499.
